Description

The S&S Cycle Crankcase Breather Reed Valve enhances engine performance by regulating crankcase pressure. Unlike traditional breathers, it operates independently of crankshaft rotation. The valve consists of three steel reeds that remain closed until pressure in the crankcase exceeds that in the cam chest, at which point they open to release air and oil mist. When the pistons reverse direction, the reeds close, preventing air from re-entering and maintaining a slight vacuum. This improves oil scavenging and reduces high-RPM oil carryover, particularly in engines with marginal piston ring seal. Installation is simple, requiring no alignment of timing marks or rotating parts.
